Letter from the Chair, Fall 2025
You are reading the first issue of our new quarterly newsletter! We felt the need to communicate with you a bit more frequently. So much happens in a year! The pace of news about Department members and their accomplishments, changes in the ways of doing math (both research and teaching) have accelerated as institutions of higher education are attempting to keep up. We will make room for more and more frequent news from you, dear readers, alumni and friends of Mathematics.
We are planning for our quarterly newsletter to be digital. This means we are doing away with the printed annual newsletter. We know some of you much prefer browsing through the paper newsletter over scrolling through an email but we found that producing and distributing the paper newsletter is rather slow and increasingly expensive. The new format is a combination of email and links to longer articles. We invite your feedback about both the content and format as we look to make improvements as we go.
